HOUSTON — Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, whose body was discovered in a Houston creek earlier this week.
Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, are charged with capital murder, police announced Thursday. As per to the source indianexpress
The tragic incident unfolded after Jocelyn sneaked out of her home Sunday night. Surveillance footage showed the girl meeting Martinez and Ramos before the trio walked to a convenience store and then to a bridge, where police believe she was killed.
The medical examiner confirmed her cause of death as strangulation.
Jocelyn’s body was found in shallow creek water early Monday morning. The relationship between Jocelyn and the suspects, who are roommates, remains unclear.
Police are awaiting the results of a sexual assault exam on the victim.
