EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Residents in parts of the Mojave Desert were alerted to a single, controlled detonation conducted by officials at Edwards Air Force Base, sparking brief concerns among locals.
The detonation, overseen by the Air Force Research Laboratory Rocket Propulsion Division, took place between June 14 and 18, concluding without incident by 4:30 p.m.
