Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially signed legislation designating a section of highway in honor of the late music icon Jimmy Buffett.

The newly named “Jimmy Buffett Highway” will stretch along a picturesque portion of US Route 1, a fitting tribute to Buffett, who is beloved for his laid-back tunes and coastal lifestyle.
The highway designation recognizes Buffett’s significant cultural contributions and his deep connection to Florida, particularly the Keys.
Governor DeSantis also introduced new specialty license plates adorned with imagery inspired by Buffett’s music and Margaritaville brand.
