Secret Service Agent Robbed at Gunpoint During Biden’s California Trip

LOS ANGELES, CA – A U.S. Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night while President Joe Biden was in Los Angeles for a high-profile campaign fundraising event.

The incident occurred in a residential neighborhood in Tustin, approximately an hour’s drive southeast of Los Angeles.

The agent was returning from work when he was accosted by assailants who stole his bag at gunpoint. According to the Secret Service, the agent, who was unharmed, discharged his firearm during the confrontation.

Authorities were alerted to the robbery shortly after 9:30 p.m. by a call to the Tustin Police Department. Some of the agent’s stolen belongings were later recovered in the area.

A silver Infiniti FX35 was reportedly seen leaving the scene, but no suspects have been apprehended as of Monday.

“We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries,” said Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi in a statement.

The incident occurred while President Biden and former President Barack Obama were hosting a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles.

The event, featuring celebrities such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Jimmy Kimmel, raised over $30 million for Biden’s re-election campaign, marking the largest single-event haul for his campaign so far.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, with local authorities and the Secret Service working together to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
